INFORMATION ABOUT THE FILM AND
FILMMAKERS:
We
are filmmakers originally from central Texas and have recently begun
our casting search for an upcoming feature film set during the Civil
War. Temporarily titled September Morning, the story
follows a fatherless thirteen year-old boy sent to retrieve a wanted
man, and the unexpected emotional bonds that form during their
journey.
Our
last film,
August Evening,
was shot in Texas and highlighted performances by mostly first-time
actors who went on to receive great acclaim. The film was
distributed in theaters nationwide, and it was one of the
best-reviewed films of the year. August Evening won the
Independent Spirit Award (similar to Oscars for independent films),
the $50,000 Target Filmmaker Award, and numerous other festival
prizes.
Our
first-time lead actor was nominated alongside Oscar-winners at the
Independent Spirit Awards and Gotham Awards,
and won the acting prize at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
